Marti and Jason : Hotel Del Coronado

Marti and Jason had an intimate wedding at the Hotel Del on the Garden Terrace. I felt really honored to meet them both and be a part of them uniting their families. Marti and her daughters were so sweet together I really enjoyed their laughter and easiness with each other. I love garden weddings and who wouldn't want to be a guest at this one. Their 22 guests were spoiled with a beautiful evening as the sunset and the sky turned electric blue. Marti and Annette Gomez are friends. What a lucky person to be friends with. When I first walked up to the table I was certain that I was at a magazine shoot for Exquisite Weddings and not an actual wedding. Annette really out did herself. I can see why Marti is such a beautiful person, I'd want to shower her in flowers too. Congratulations to Marti and Jason and their sweet kids.   All the best, Suzanne Hotel Del Flowers by Annette Gomez Michelle CoulonVenue: Hotel Del Coronado

Kelly and Matt : The Marriot Coronado

It has been such a fun year getting to know Kelly and Matt.  We had an amazing engagement session in the mountains where we were all happy to find a snow storm.  It was one of those rare days where you drive an hour outside of San Diego and find yourself in piles and piles of snow.  We hung out at a cute diner and got to know each other over warm cocktails.I had a great time at the rehearsal dinner and was touched by how loved they were by all their friends and family.  I really got a sense of how proud everyone was of who Matt and Kelly are as people.

Kelly got ready at their home in Coronado and Matt got ready down the street at a friends house.  Their wedding day was like a tour of the island.  The ceremony was held at St. Paul's Methodist Church and then we headed over to Spreckles park for some portraits.  The bridal party opened some champagne and let loose and started to celebrate.  Soon we were at the reception and hearing Matt and Kelly's friends give the toast.  I, of course cried, especially at Kelly's maid of honor speech.  The love in the room was palpable.

Kelly's aunt created all the florals for an event.  It's always nice to have a professional florist in the family to make something special for your wedding day.  Brightly Designed created some dreamy paper products with silver foil that I just loved.  Amanda McPhail from Creative Occasions made sure it was all smooth sailing.  Austin Hendrix gave the guests good reason to let loose on the dance floor.  I love working with a great team.

After the formalities it was all smiles on the dance floor.  What a great way to spend their first day as husband and wife.

Congratulations Kelly and Matt.  Thanks for the fun year together!! xoxo Suzanne

Rachel and Cal : New Children's Museum Wedding

Rachel and Cal live in the heart of Downtown San Diego and found the perfect venue in their neighborhood. The New Children's Museum is inspiring and creative just like Rachel and Cal. After facebook stalking Rachel and their hilarious wedding website, I knew I was in for a treat. We had an amazing wedding year together, I was sad for the wedding to be over. From our first meeting to the engagement session to their rehearsal dinner, I knew the wedding day would be beautiful, emotional and full of shenanigans. I was incredibly impressed at how much they love each other and how good they are at having fun. Rachel walked down the aisle to smiles and tears of joy. It was so touching that their ceremony was officiated by a family member. I loved the chalk art alter, Rachel is an amazing graphic designer and the chalk elements really complimented her gorgeous designs.I had such a blast at their wedding that my cheeks hurt at the end of the night from smiling all day. Their smilebooth props were awesome, they were inspired by some of their favorite things. Their guests showed their creative and crazy sides all night. How many beautiful brides can say one of their favorite wedding moments is going down a slide in their designer gown? Not many. The whole day was all about love and fun.At the end of the night, Mike was showing me his photos from the guys getting ready room and we were in hysterics. What a crew! I can't wait to go through the rest of the images. Here is our first collection from a super fun day.

Middle children unite! Love you both, xoxo Suzanne

Katelyn and Caleb : Darlington House Wedding

There is something special about photographing several weddings at the same location because even though it is the same location every wedding is beautiful and unique in its own right. All the details and hard work has brought new life to the Darlington House every time we go there and I feel as if all the love gets multiplied by the happy memories from past. This is specially true for the wonderful couple Katelyn and Caleb.I was ecstatic to see the images after Mike came home from photographing their wedding day, the images left me breathless and nothing could have prepared me for how incredibly beautiful Katelyn looked on their special day.  Even though it's tradition for the bride and groom not to see each before the ceremony, breaking tradition in this case was for the best, as seeing Caleb before the ceremony turned out to be Katelyn's  favorite moment of the day since it was such an intimate moment they shared just between the two of them.  After the touching ceremony was over, it was time to party and Mike captured just how much fun they had with their bridal party perfectly. Where everyone danced and had a good time to Caleb's pick of reggae music and Katelyn's favorites Iron & Wine and Bruno Mars.  I was jealous, I wish I could have been there to share all the laughter and smiles that he was showing me.  Katelyn and Caleb looked like they had the time of  their life.

I'm certain that Katelyn and Caleb are going to have as much fun in their new life together as they did on their wedding day.  And a special thanks to all of our friends who made up their team of awesome vendors who made this day fun, smooth, and beautiful.

Congrats Katelyn and Caleb, Mike and I wish you nothing but the best!

xoxo Suzanne
