I'm keeping my promise, I am blogging more. I think I've got to the heart of the matter, though. My mom told me the story of my older brother being born. She said she was embarrassed to show the other women in the hospital her son. She thought he was the most beautiful boy in the whole world and didn't want to overshadow anyone else's joy. Granted she was nineteen when she got married, having a beautiful baby still filled her with so much pride.I'm not sure how to make sense of that story exactly, but I think it relates to how bizarrely proud of our couples that I really don't know what to say. I can take beautiful pictures that capture the spirit of things, but words are harder. So without embarrassment of how prideful I am, here is a little about Carrie and Alynn.
Carrie and Alynn are originals. Their wedding day was on their own terms.
Alynn's family were wild, just like she promised. Hilarious and crazy.
We were in the middle of the street with bowling pins and sticking the flower girl out of the sun roof... Climbing in trees and running down the pier... Picking on each other for having double chins and encouraging each other to hold our arms in.
The aisle was created with windmills. The first dance made most everyone cry: they are so blessed. Yummy mojitos, stone porter, and some sweet wines; so many desserts that I couldn't try them all! On top of that there were two food trucks, beautiful bridesmaid dresses for beautiful bridesmaids, and a flower girl who stole the show. Not to mention an art gallery, a custom cake topper designed in London, and a CAKE cake. There is something about this Erica Hinshaw... she delivers in style and has a smile and grace that I admire.
The DJ was a friend of theirs and so obviously loved playing music. She danced the night away behind the spin tables. I don't know if she is always this happy or if Carrie and Alynn just inspire the heck out of her, but man it was great to watch.
I wish them all the best the world has to offer. I'm glad they have so many wonderfully crazy friends and family to stand on the shoulders of. Mike and I are so happy that we have become friends and have you in our lives.
My clients are the best,
xoxo Suzanne
